Jewellery boxes and cabinets - for the person who has everything and needs somewhere to keep it
I am a trained engineer from way back, who discovered the joy of working with wood around thirty years ago. I specialise in smaller pieces, such as my trademark jewellery boxes and cabinets but I can be easily persuaded to build bigger items of furniture, and I particularly enjoy combining fine timber with metal - for example, by incorporating subtle and complex mechanical and electroninc mechanisms that lets me use my engineering skills.
This site gives an overview of some recent work, and where stated items are available for sale. However, please note that I do not produce 'production' items, every piece is unique both in the wood that I use and in the design. There is no fun in making the same thing over and over again, so I don't do it - however, what I am very happy to do is to make a special piece that suits your specific requirements, so feel free to contact me to discuss what you have in mind.
I dabble in making other stuff as well. I have been engraving glass since Moses was a boy; have always been interested in electronics and computers, and like to try new ideas, like Brian the copper dragon. At one time or another, all of these elements have or will find their way into my boxes and cabinets.
The 'workshop news' page describes some of the recent events here, this is updated roughly once a month
